Proverbs 21:21

Last night I was at a dinner appointment and I was asked to give a spiritual thought.  So I decided to look through the Old Testament as I was reading it.  I came across Proverbs 21:21 where it say "He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour."

From reading it is really simple and plain.  Those who are righteous and merciful will find life, even eternal life; because they are righteous they will become more righteous and through righteousness they will be honored for their contribution to building up the Kingdom of God.  While on the other hand, those who are unrighteous and merciless will not find eternal life but only condemnation upon themselves.  Dishonor instead of honor.  The choice was so simple and plain.  It can be summarized by Shakespeare's statement in Hamlet: "To be or not to be, that's the question."
